Lauded for her strikingly unique balance of artistry, interpretation, and vocal beauty, Cait Frizzell is among the elite rank of her generation who are embracing new techniques and styles to further the reach of vocal performance to new and existing audiences. She has achieved global acclaim as a concert and ensemble singer, equally comfortable performing Handel in a concert hall as she is recording video game soundtracks in a studio. In 2013, she worked with and was awarded the Liedersänger Prize by Barbara Bonney at the AIMS Festival in Graz, Austria, and in 2015 she was given the honor of performing alongside mentors Dawn Upshaw and Stephanie Blythe for Phyllis Curtin’s memorial recital at the Tanglewood Festival.
It says much about Cait’s vocal dexterity and flexibility that she is able to perform professionally as both a soloist and chorister with her name appearing on the rosters of Anúna (Dublin, Ireland), Seraphic Fire (Miami, FL), Polyphony (London, UK), True Concord (Tucson, AZ), and the Santa Fe Desert Chorale (Santa Fe, NM), among others. In this capacity, she has performed to sold-out audiences around the world, from the Maihama Amphitheatre in Tokyo, to the National Center for the Performing Arts in Beijing, to the De Doelen Theater in Rotterdam.
Fiercely passionate about the future of the career field, Cait has developed an educational outreach program designed to inspire and coach aspiring choral musicians at the university level. Her two-day lecture series includes an in-depth look at the profession itself and illustrates how a young professional might find a foothold in the industry, and is then followed by a lecture-recital which focuses on the singularly important necessity of a signer to be an individual, flexible artist above all else. In this capacity, she also leads independent masterclasses that focus on performance, commitment, and artistic choice as opposed to the traditional model of vocal development.
A consummate millennial, Cait has spent countless hours in the recording booth, most recently having been recorded as a featured soloist on GRAMMY Award©-winning True Concord’s upcoming Christmas album, to be released in winter of 2019. Her discography also includes the soundtrack for “Wander”, ranked among XBox’s Top 25 most popular games in 2014, as well as two albums with ANÚNA, on which she is also a featured soloist.
Cait holds a Master of Performance (with distinction) from the Royal College of Music and a Bachelor of Music from Florida State University.
