Full Biography

Lauded for her strikingly unique balance of artistry, interpretation, and vocal beauty, Cait Frizzell is among the elite rank of her generation who are embracing new techniques and styles to further the reach of vocal performance to new and existing audiences. She has achieved global acclaim as a concert and ensemble singer, equally comfortable performing Handel in a concert hall as she is recording video game soundtracks in a studio. In 2013, she worked with and was awarded the Liedersänger Prize by Barbara Bonney at the AIMS Festival in Graz, Austria, and in 2015 she was given the honor of performing alongside mentors Dawn Upshaw and Stephanie Blythe for Phyllis Curtin’s memorial recital at the Tanglewood Festival.

It says much about Cait’s vocal dexterity and flexibility that she is able to perform professionally as both a soloist and chorister with her name appearing on the rosters of Anúna (Dublin, Ireland), Seraphic Fire (Miami, FL), Polyphony (London, UK), True Concord (Tucson, AZ), and the Santa Fe Desert Chorale (Santa Fe, NM), among others. In this capacity, she has performed to sold-out audiences around the world, from the Maihama Amphitheatre in Tokyo, to the National Center for the Performing Arts in Beijing, to the De Doelen Theater in Rotterdam.

Fiercely passionate about reaching new audiences, Cait has demonstrated a singular dedication to marrying her love of contemporary music and working personally with today’s composers (among them Michael McGlynn, Lori Laitman, and Carlisle Floyd) to outreach and accessibility, particularly within her own generation. From Carnegie Hall to impromptu, unaccompanied performances in pubs in Dublin, she is rapidly creating a name for herself as a recitalist through her exclusive use of the native language of her audiences, whatever their background. A poet and polyglot, she translates for performance all foreign song that she programs with accuracy and sensitivity to the original language, sentiment, and setting of the poem for the wider appreciation of her audiences.

A consummate millennial, Cait has spent countless hours in the recording booth, most recently having been recorded as a featured soloist on GRAMMY Award©-winning True Concord’s upcoming Christmas album, to be released in winter of 2019.  Her discography also includes the soundtrack for “Wander”, ranked among XBox’s Top 25 most popular games in 2014, as well as two albums with ANÚNA, on which she is also a featured soloist.

Cait holds a Master of Performance degree (with distinction) from the Royal College of Music and a Bachelor of Music from Florida State University.
